Need jewelry repaired in Yorktown, Hampton, Newport News or elsewhere on the Virginia Peninsula? You don't have to go far—all our jewelry repairs are done on the premises. We take in a variety of jewelry repairs every day. We also will repair jewelry from anywhere in the United States!
Many customers return to us time and again, because once we have done work for them, they trust us and know we'll get the job done right.
What jewelry do you repair?
We most often work in platinum, gold and silver, but we are always up for a challenge. If you have a question or a broken piece of jewelry, please bring it by and our jewelers will assist you. We use both torches and a laser welder, which often allow us to do repairs that cannot be done with a torch. While we do not repair watches, we do replace watch batteries.
Some of our most common repairs are:
Broken ring shanks
Prong re-tipping or re-building
Stone resetting or tightening
Jump ring replacement
Affixing charms to bracelets
Reinforcing worn-out bails
How long do your jewelry repairs take?
Our turnaround for most jewelry repairs is a week. We have one of the fastest repair promises in the area because we have four jewelers on site. Your repairs will never leave the building.
Do you guarantee your jewelry repairs?
Yes! Our guarantee is automatic, without having to purchase a warranty.
We guarantee any repairs, items we sell, and custom design work for one year from the date of pickup. We will repair or replace any problems that arise during this time due to structural issues or normal wear and tear. We do NOT cover pieces that have been abused, such as going through a garbage disposal, rolled over with a car, crushed in a doorway, or battered in a motorcycle accident (these are all real customer stories!).
That said, while abuse situations like these are not covered by our guarantee, we’re still happy to repair them at our normal rates (we were able to rebuild jewelry in all of the above stories, except the garbage disposal).
How much do your jewelry repairs cost?
Minor repairs usually start from $25, and ring sizing is $40 and up, depending on how many sizes up or down you need, how wide/thick the ring is, what metal is used, and how many stones are in it.
For an accurate estimate, bring your piece by in person. We are unable to quote a price until we can see the item, figure out why it has broken, and can assess what it will take to repair the item properly. For this reason, we do not quote repair costs over the phone.
Are there jewelry repairs you do NOT perform?
There are some repairs we do not recommend, usually because we see that it will not last or hold up to wear. We are not here to take your money, but to make sure your jewelry is wearable.
